According to Marine Corps lore, Sergeant Major Daly rallied his Marines with the famous battle cry, “Come on, you sons-o’-bitches, do you want to live forever?” This battle cry, delivered during the desperate fighting in Belleau Wood in June 1918, is a testament to “Doughboys” resilience and courage and connects us to their sacrifices made in the past. It is a fitting tribute to the Marine Corps SOBs who showed extraordinary valor and a determination to live forever despite overwhelming odds.
